When I travel in a car on vacation, I
get tired of eating at the fast food places. I pack raw veggies, string cheese, salami, etc. in zip lock bags, in the cooler
along with water, soda, etc. Some crackers, fruit & cookies makes for a nice quick lunch at a road rest stop. Don't forget
a tablecloth, napkins & wet wipes.

If you are bringing your pooch on the car trip, don't forget snacks for him, water
bowl & water. Dogs enjoy a picnic along the way also.

When I fly I always pack some goodies also. Some nuts,
protein bars, dried fruit, & of course hard candies & gum. Don't forget to get up & move around, stretch, flex
your feet when you are sitting, this is good for your circulation. And will make that long walk in the terminal
easier. Have a good flight.

Here's a tip for keeping food from sticking
on the grill. Cut a raw potato in half & rub it on the grill.

When the garden is producing lots of
zuchinni, yellow squash, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers & green beans. Here's a tip for freezing. Wash tomatoes,
core, don't peel, pack in zip lock bags. When you take them out to use in sauces or soups this winter, put them in water for
a few minutes & the peels come right off. For green beans I blanch in boiling water for 3 min, then plunge in ice water
bath til cool. Drain well, spread in single layer on a cookie sheet. Put in freezer til icy. Then pack in to zip lock
bags. You can also freeze peppers by washing, chopping, put on cookie sheet til icy, then in your zip lock bags. This
works well, for berries also.
